Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine synopsis

Meet Eleanor Oliphant.  She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she’s thinking.  Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life, where weekends mostly consist of frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy.  But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling IT guy from her office, whose big heart will ultimately help Eleanor find the way to repair her own profoundly damaged one.  Smart, warm, and uplifting, ELEANOR OLIPHANT IS COMPLETELY FINE is the story of an out-of-the-ordinary heroine whose deadpan weirdness and wit make for an irresistible journey as she realizes the only way to survive is to open your heart.

My Take

So why did I choose this book? Because it seemed to be a normal one. Not too hot and not too cold. Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine by Gail Honeyman took me over completely. Just like its protagonist, the book is very simple. But will leave a mark on your book lover hear. I found it relatable to such an extent sometimes that I cried and laughed with her ( not to exaggerate just smiled and felt sad). So here is a review for you to decide whether you want to go for it or not.

Eleanor’s life is a simple one. She works as an accountant in a graphic designing company. She doesn’t like her job much but she doesn’t hate it either. Eleanor is satisfied with the work that she has been doing for the past nine years as she joined it when she was quite young. She is not an office politics person. Eleanor possesses one set of plainclothes and footwear. Instead of being a procrastinator, Eleanor likes to plan everything in advance. Eleanor becomes friends with Raymon while helping an old man out.
She lives a lonely life. And has no one to go back home to. She is someone who talks to her plants. Everything seems normal until she realizes that there is something missing. Soon, discovers that little things in life give a lot of happiness if observed carefully. Living in the moment is what Eleanor soon discovers.
