HONDA CB300R
The year is also going to be rocked by Honda as it is all set to launch its Honda CB300R within March 2019. The company has already started accepting the bookings of the CB300R for a token amount of Rs 5,000 across Wing World dealerships in India. The company says it’ll price the neo-sports cafe racer below the Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
In terms of design, the CB300R borrows many of its ‘Neo Sports Cafe’ look from its older sibling, the CB1000R, which was recently launched in India. Powering it is a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor derived from the existing CBR300R. It makes 30.9PS of power at 5500rpm and 27Nm of torque at 7500rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Being a scaled down model version of the CB1000R, the CB300R boasts of a huge array of features. This includes an all-digital LCD instrument console, full LED lights, dual-channel ABS and a hydraulic clutch.
Based on a tubular steel frame, suspension duties are handled by 41mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Single 296mm disc with a Nissin radial calliper at the front and a 220mm single disc at the rear handle braking duties. Expect dual-channel ABS to be offered as standard. Honda is expected to launch the motorcycle by March. If priced below Rs 2.5 lakh, it will compete against the BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke and the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (as far as the prices are concerned).
